Kebbi First Lady Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris was among major donors at the Fund Raising of the Federation of Muslim Women Associations, FOMWAN, for its development programmes.
Hajiya Zainab Nasare donated ten million naira on behalf of herself and family, while the Kebbi State Government under Governor Nasir Idris made a donation of N50 million through the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida.
The Executive Chairman, Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruk Aliyu Enabo on behalf of himself, associates and family donated N8.5million, while the Member, House of Representatives, Suru/Bagudo Constituency, Alhaji Bello Dallatun Ka’oje, made a personal donation of N10 million and N4.5 million on behalf of his associates.
In addition to cash donations, Alhaji. Bello Dallatu donated a vehicle, with a promise to install solar power at the Nursery and Primary school of the Association.
Similarly, the Chairman of the Pilgrims Agency, Alhaji. Faruk Enabo donated a vehicle and pledged to construct two blocks of classrooms for the Association.
Other major donors include the Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Abubakar Chika, Birnin KebbI, who gave a personal donation of N3 million and a vehicle, as well as announced a donation of N5 million on behalf of other Commissioners.
Donations were also received from the Wife of the deputy Governor, Hajiya Aisha Tafida who donated one million naira and the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Halima Muhammad Bande, three hundred thousand naira.
More than one hundred million naira was realized by FOMWAN at the fund rasing for educational development and Da’wah Activities.
In a remark on the occasion, the Wife of the Governor, expressed gratitude to the incumbent administration of her husband for continuing support to educational progress in the state.
She also thanked all donors to the fund raising, urging well-to-do individuals to be active participants in the development of the education sector.
The First Lady commended members of FOMWAN for their resilience in instilling religious virtues in the society and promoting the quest for knowledge among students.
