First Lady of Kebbi State, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, was among global leaders, policymakers, and key stakeholders at the launch of the #ShesIncluded initiative, hosted by the Office of the Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria in Abuja.
The high-level event, which brought together top government officials, private sector leaders, and development partners, focused on advancing women’s economic and financial inclusion across Nigeria.
In a keynote address, on Thursday in Abuja while declaring open the 2025 Gender Inclusion Conference and launching Project: #SheIsIncluded to bridge gender gaps in finance and the broader economy, the Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima, GCON, affirmed the commitment of the Tinubu administration to ensuring that Nigerian women have equal access to economic opportunities, financial resources, and empowerment programmes.
Goodwill messages were delivered by the Minister of Women Affairs and State Governors, all reinforcing the importance of collective action on breaking barriers hindering women’s financial inclusion.
The First Lady of Kebbi State, Hajiya Zainab Nasare, in a press statement by her Chief press secretary, Khadijat Saidu, expressed strong support to the initiative, commending the Office of the Vice President for spearheading such transformative agenda.
“It is highly important and desirable to sustain collaboration among government institutions, private organizations, and community leaders to ensure that women, particularly in rural areas, have the tools and opportunities to thrive economically”,
“I am reaffirming my dedication to initiatives that uplift women and contribute to national development”,
“Empowering women is a crucial step towards building a more resilient and prosperous Nigeria”, Nasare emphasised.
The #ShesIncluded initiative aligns with the commitments outlined in the Aso Accord on Economic and Financial Inclusion, further reinforcing government’s efforts to bridge the gender gap in financial access and entrepreneurship.
The Wife of the Kebbi State Governor advocated continuity in engagement on the implementation of policies and programmes that would create long lasting economic opportunities for women in the society.
