The abductors of Pastor David Musa of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), who was earlier kidnapped in the Obajana community of Kogi State on November 11, have murdered him after collecting a N1 million ransom from his family.
“It is with a heavy heart but in total submission to the will of God, I write to inform you that the abductors of our brother, Pastor Musa David, have killed him after collecting a ransom of one million naira last night.
“Let our prayers be with the family, the Church, and the DCC in this trying moment,” a post from the platform of the church reads.
The pastor who was in charge of ECWA Bishara, Ajaokuta, was abducted on Saturday, November 11, on the day of the Kogi governorship election.
Church sources said that Pastor David’s brutal murder has instilled fear within his congregation and the state at large.
Daily Topic reports that the Lokoja/Obajana/Kabba Road has witnessed increasing insecurity, with frequent operations by gunmen who abduct individuals, leading to tragic outcomes.
Earlier in September, a Major in the Nigerian Army was among 26 persons, who were abducted and whisked away into the bush near Kabba town.
While some were released after a week in captivity, the fate of others remains unknown.
Also, last Sunday, some individuals narrowly escaped abduction when gunmen took control of the road to kidnap travelers.
