The Lagos State House of Assembly has announced a new set of principal officers after the impeachment of Mudashiru Obasa as Speaker.

Mojisola Meranda, the former Deputy Speaker, was subsequently elected as the new Speaker, with Fatai Adebola appointed as the Deputy Speaker.
In her first plenary session, Meranda announced the following leadership appointments: Temitope Adedeji as Majority Leader, David Setonji as Chief Whip, and Richard Kasumu as Deputy Majority Leader.
“The members appointed are: Hon Temitope Adedeji (Ifako Ijaiye 1) as Majority Leader, Hon David Setonji (Badagry 2) as Chief Whip, Hon Richard Kasumu (Ikeja 2) as Deputy Majority Leader, while Hon. Sanni Babatunde (Kosofe 1) is Deputy Chief Whip,” Meranda stated.
Meranda met with the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), the highest decision-making body of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, after taking office.
