It was homecoming on Monday for Comrade Grace Ike as she led the Grace Ike Campaign Council (GICC) and her term to the National Assembly House of Representatives Press Corps and presented her manifesto to members of the press corps.
Ike, who was the immediate past Chairperson of the House of Representatives Press Corps left an indelible record of unprecedented performance, while addressed her colleagues urged them to join her to lift the NUJ FCT Council to enviable height by turning out in large numbers to vote for the incoming administration of the union.
It would be recalled that the NUJ FCT Council Election will hold on December 4, 2024 at the Council Secretariat, Utako-Abuja.
She presented aspirants for other positions in her team to usher in a new era to include, Comrade Yahaya Ndambabo – Vice Chairman, Comrade Jide Oyekunle – Secretary of Council, and Comrade Sandra Udeike – Treasurer.
Earlier, the chairman of the Press Corps, Comrade Gboyega Onadiran while welcoming Grace Ike and her team to the press centre recalled her pedigree as a goal getter and towering performance which has set the pace in the press corps.
Director General of the GICC, Prof Philip Nyam while introducing Grace Ike, described as the sole candidate for Chairman NUJ FCT Council with the magic wand to fix the council and address the welfare of members.
Highlights of the campaign was presentation of campaigns materials including posters, face capes, and handbills to the chairman of the press corps by Comrade Grace Ike with support by aspirants for other positions.
