Authorities in Saudi Arabia have confirmed that the crescent moon marking the beginning of Dhul Hijjah, the final month in the Islamic calendar, has been seen.
This signals the official start of the holy period.
The first day of Dhul Hijjah will be observed on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
During this month, Muslims across the world, especially those able to undertake the journey, gather in Makkah to perform the hajj pilgrimage.
As announced, the day of Arafat will be on June 5, while the Eid-el-Kabir celebration will take place on June 6.
This festival, also known as Eid al-Adha, is one of the most cherished days in the Muslim calendar and is observed with prayers, animal sacrifices, and acts of charity.
