The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has announced that a total of 11,886 students will receive their degrees and diploma certificates during the institution’s 40th Convocation Ceremony.
The instruction’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Wahab Egbewole (SAN), made the disclosure during a press briefing held on Monday as part of activities marking the convocation week.
According to the breakdown provided by the Vice Chancellor, 316 students earned First Class Honours, while 4,120 will graduate with Second Class Upper Division, 5,939 with Second Class Lower Division, 1,078 with Third Class, and 11 with a Pass in the First Degree/Diploma category.
The university will also confer professional degrees on several graduating students, including 175 in Medicine and Surgery (MB,BS), 94 in Nursing, 40 in Optometry, 36 in Veterinary Medicine, and 64 in Physiotherapy. Additionally, 13 individuals will receive Diplomas.
Professor Egbewole noted that the 40th Convocation marks another milestone in the university’s consistent commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and service to humanity.
“This convocation is a celebration of hard work, resilience, and excellence. It also underscores our continued drive to produce graduates who will make meaningful contributions to national and global development,” he stated.
The week-long ceremony is expected to attract dignitaries, alumni, parents, and friends of the university from across the country.
