*As over 700 candidates completes 2025 Trade Test

The permanent secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs. Abisola Dokunbo -Adegbite has reiterated the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration’s commitment to continually invest and provide adequate infrastructure to Lagos State Examinations Board ( LSEB), for sustainable educational excellence and socio-economic development.

Mrs Dokunbo -Adegbite, made this known to newsmen, at the LSEB premises, after assessing and interacted with artisans, who were tested by LSEB, in practical Trade Test one, two and three in hair dressing, barbing, tailoring, body beauty & Cosmetology, Catering, Pastry, Event Planners, Leatherworks etc
across various centres in the state.

According to her, “the provision of infrastructure is a top priority for the Lagos State Examinations Board (LSEB), in line with the state government’s broader commitment to investing in the education sector, stressing that, “This focus is driven by the need to enhance the examination process of the agency.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration, according to Mrs Dokunmu-Adegbite, has prioritized education, with a significant portion of its budget allocated to funding vital projects in the sector, stressing that the LSEB, which operates under the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, is a direct beneficiary of these larger educational sector improved facilities.

In her words, “I want to pledge on behalf of my Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr Jamiu Tolani Alli -Balogun, that the ministry ‘ll look at the problem associated with infrastructure at the LSEB headquarters couple with the excellent work by the Director/ Registrar, Mr Orunsolu Adebayo, witnessed here today, our Governor and his Deputy seeing all these ‘ll accord the agency the needed supports required to put in place adequate and befitting infrastructures.

Turning to the Mr Orunsolu Adebayo ‘s led management team, the permanent secretary said, “I am impressed with what I have seen so far when I walked into the LSEB premises. I can see the talents we have in our state. I have seen skills, I have seen passion, I have seen perseverance, I have seen persistent, I have seen mothers with their babies here for the test, I have seen men cooking, plaiting hairs, I have seen women painting and doing leather works. It’s just everything. I am highly impressed.”

She said, “I have seen the Examinations Board, they have done very well. I must congratulate Mr Orunsolu. From what I heard, they have added more areas to test. They have improved tremendously by acquiring some new equipment for tailoring and leather works. The extent by which the LSEB had gone so far, is honestly commendable. They have touched every area of human endeavour.”

Mrs Dokunbo -Adegbite, therefore urged the LSEB management to expand the scope of the agency’s activities in order to accommodate more talents for the benefit of Lagos state.

Mr Orunsolu Adebayo , expressed the LSEB appreciation to the permanent secretary for her presence, guidance and words of encouragement, describing her visit as a great motivation to the Board and participants. He reaffirmed the Board’s readiness to continue upholding the values of excellence, integrity and service delivery in all Examinations conducted.

The Year 2025 Trade Test has once again demonstrated the Lagos state government’s unwavering commitment to promoting technical and vocational education as a means of building a skilled, self- reliant and productive workforce for the future.

Most of the candidates at the Year 2025 Trade Test, commended the state government and LSEB for the opportunity accorded them.

For Funlayo Olunloyo, Adebisi Olamiju, Agatha Oniti and Bintu Badmus, who participated in the practical test, were all unanimous in thanking the LSEB management and staff for the opportunity to actualise their dreams.

“We thank the state government, we thank the ministry for Basic and Secondary Education and our own LSEB, for bringing to bear our individual talents for a greater tomorrow for ourselves, our family, our state and our country “, Bintu Badmus stated.
