The Nigerian military has slammed those calling for a coup against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying they are enemies of Nigeria.
The military while pledging support for the democratic government of Tinubu revealed that there are plots from different quarters to instigate members of Armed Forces of Nigeria to overthrow Tinubu’s government but assured that those plans have failed.
The Military High Command insisted that the Armed Forces of Nigeria is better off under democracy adding that officers would not get involved in any act to sabotage it.
Brig.-Gen. Tukur Gusau, the director of defence information, stated in a statement released on Saturday, August 12, 2023, in Abuja.
He said the leadership of the armed forces has given priority to welfare of its personnel and will continue to do so.
